According to the definition in Annex 1 of the Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Food Additives published in the Official Gazette dated 30.06.2013 and numbered 28693:
" Antioxidants : Substances that extend the shelf life of oils by protecting them against deterioration caused by oxidation such as rancidity and color change and/or the development of pathogenic microorganisms."
