Technical information:
Xylitol was discovered by German and French chemists in the late 19th century and started to be used in the food industry in 1960. Since then, it is a sweetener frequently used in the diabetic diet of many countries such as the USA, Russia, Germany and China.

Tito Xylitol isn't exactly sugar. Other sweeteners such as sorbitol, glucose or fructose have 6 carbons, while xylitol has 5 carbons.

Hemicellulose is hydrolyzed to produce D-Xylose, whose chemical formula is C5H12O5. Doxylose is also hydrogenated to obtain xylitol.

Xylitol is in the form of white crystals and has a pleasant minty flavor. Xylitol does not have an allergic effect.

Many harmful bacteria in our mouth cannot break down this 5-carbon sugar and use it, so xylitol is not a sweetener that adversely affects our dental health.

As well as being sweeter than sorbitol, it's just as energizing as sucrose.

Using nutrients, our body consumes up to 415 grams of xylitol every day. That's why human metabolism is no stranger to this sweetener. Xylitol occurs in nature in small amounts. It is usually obtained from fruits (cherries, cherries, strawberries, etc.), organic materials such as lettuce, mushrooms, hardwood and corn on the cob. One cup of raspberries contains less than 1 gram of xylitol.

1 gram of Tito xylitol is 2.43 kilo calories (kcal), while 1 gram of regular sugar is 3.87 kcal. In other words, Tito xylitol has approximately 50% lower calories than regular sugar. Therefore, xylitol is recommended for diabetics and hyperglycemia patients. At the same time, xylitol affects blood sugar much less than regular sugar. Regular sugar has a glycemic index (GI) of 100, while xylitol has just 7.

Tito Xylitol can be used in a 1:1 ratio in all areas where regular sugar is used.

Tito xylitol is used as a tooth-friendly raw material in toothpastes, nasal sprays, mouthwashes and other oral care products.

It is also used in chewing gums, candies, cough syrups and throat lozenges.

Tito xylitol is used in many diet products as it contains 40% less calories than normal sugar.
