Peroxide is a multi-purpose disinfectant widely used in the food industry due to its antiviral, bactericidal and fungicidal effect.

Residual peroxide (H2O2) is determined by colorimetric method with peroxide test strips.

Peroxide concentration (0.5 - 2 - 5 - 10 - 25 mg/L) is measured semi-quantitatively by visually comparing the color change in the reaction zone of the test strip.
