Use of:
All of the solvent in the solvent bottle is transferred to the glass sample cup.
A 1 ml syringe is filled with the titrant solution.
After adding 2 drops of indicator to the solvent, it is titrated with the titrant in the syringe until a pink color appears drop by drop.
The purpose of this process is the possibility of a little acidity in the solvent. With this titration process, the acidity is completely removed.
Add 5 ml of olive oil to the solvent with a syringe and mix well.
The 1 ml syringe is refilled with titrant to the 1 ml line.
Add 2 drops of indicator to the solution. Titrate with the titrant in the syringe dropwise and by shaking it well.
When the yellowish-green color turns completely pink, the dripping is stopped.
The amount of titrant spent on the syringe is read, recorded and the acidity value is calculated.
For example, if the value read from the syringe is 0.5 ml;
Olive oil acidity value = 0.5%.
