Also known as morning glory, it is a wrapping plant from a very popular seasonal ivy group. It has heart-shaped leaves. The colorful trumpet-shaped flowers open at sunrise and close towards noon.
The life of each bud is one day, but new ones bloom every day. Fast growing ivy, they bloom from summer through fall frosts. Flowers attract butterflies. They reproduce from seed.
Since the seeds are thick, it may be appropriate to soak the seeds in hot water for 24 hours for better germination. It is planted in the treated soil at a distance of 1 cm after the frosts have passed in the spring.
With the cold, the plant dies. However, the next year they take it out again with seeds in the soil. Once grown, they don't require much maintenance. The soil should be moist, but not wet. A sunny place should be preferred for ivy. If excessive fertilizer is given, the plant will turn green and the flower will be less.
It can also tolerate poor soils. Since they are from the ivy group, they can be used on garden walls, camellias and fences. In addition, when grown in pots, they provide a very beautiful appearance for balconies.
