Product name: Burette
Faucet Structure: Glass
Volume: 25ml

Straight burette with glass spout.

The burette is used to measure the volume of the flowing part of the liquid filled in a graduated glass tube with a tap at the bottom. Its main areas of use are titration processes in volumetric analysis.

Today, different types of burettes have been made, provided that the basic principle remains the same. Automatic burettes with glass tap, Teflon tap.
A burette is a graduated glass tube with a tap at one end for delivering a liquid in known volumes.

It is a laboratory apparatus that is widely used in quantitative chemical analyzes such as titration. The most common titration processes are; precipitation, acid-base, reduction-oxidation and complexometric methods.

It can also be defined as graduated glass tubes with a tap at the bottom, designed for precision scale for liquids used in small volumes.

The most important part of the burette is the spout. The faucet consists of a faucet head and a gasket. Provides gasket sealing. The most important point to be considered in faucets is that they are resistant to intense chemicals such as acids and bases.

Points to be considered during use;

Since burettes are made of glass material, they should be used with caution against breakage.

After each use, the tube should be washed by passing distilled water several times.

When using, the meniscus line should be observed correctly. While determining the meniscus line, the point where the liquid ends in the burette should be read at eye level.

Correct determination of the meniscus line;

The meniscus is the concave curve of a cylinder or a liquid surface inside a narrow tube. A concave curve occurs on the liquid surface due to surface tension.
In order to avoid parallax error and for accurate results, the eye level of the person measuring and the meniscus line must be at the same level in all volumetric measurements.

The lowest point of the meniscus should coincide with the highest point of the gradation line.

For more accurate, faster and more precise measurements, it is recommended to put a black stripe behind the burette tube, just below the degree and meniscus line.

An error made during visual measurement may lead to an incorrect analysis result. In addition, the volume determined from a different angle each time reduces the reproducibility of the analysis and increases the deviation between the results.

Usage instruction:
Fill the burette with titrant to slightly above the '0' point.
Safely pour the liquid into a laboratory beaker without dropping it below the '0' point, in order to accustom the faucet valve and gain hand sensitivity.
Make sure that there are no air bubbles in the burette.
Keeping the meniscus line at eye level, drain the fluid right up to the "0" point.
Wipe the drop that has accumulated at the tip of the tap, hold the flask containing the analyte solution under the burette tap and start the titration by opening the tap slightly.
When the equivalence point is reached, immediately close the burette cock, withdraw the flask containing the analyte from the bottom of the burette, wipe the drip from the spout.

Safety warnings:
Take your safety precautions against chemical hazards by using personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles, face shield, etc.).
