Castor oil plant is also known as castor bean or mince flower. It is also called by this name because its seeds resemble ticks. It is an annual, tropical plant. Plenty of sunshine and warm environments; The plant, rich in organic matter, prefers well-drained but still slightly moist soils. It is produced from plant seeds.
The hard-shelled seeds are softened and planted by leaving them in water for 24 hours after all dangers of frost have been overcome in the spring. The dark red leaves are long-stalked shield-shaped, the inflorescences are on a stalk, and the upper flowers are red-serrated, the fruit is a spiny little globe, each containing three pods.
Tick seeds are brown in color and blackish red in places, wavy and 1-2 cm in size. It can be grown almost anywhere in Turkey. It grows naturally in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Marmara regions. It is also planted as an ornamental plant on the garden edges and borders for decorative purposes.
